I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. An avid reader, my interest in political philosophy was sparked early on by reading classic works of science fiction. I attended Indiana University – Purdue University, where I earned a B.A. in Philosophy, followed by a B.S. in Psychology. I continued my education by pursuing a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) from the Indiana University Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

I gained first-hand experience with politics interning with the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce (Indy Chamber) and holding the position as the Central Indiana Community Organizer for United Senior Action of Indiana.

Between undergrad and graduate school, I enjoyed a six-year stint as an ESL teacher just outside of Seoul, South Korea. My hobbies include reading science fiction and fantasy, board gaming, and listening to various genres inspired by the alternative music of the’ 80s.

I envision this blog as playing a part in what Jürgen Habermas called the public sphere—a social space necessary for genuine democracy, in which different opinions can be expressed, problems of general concern are discussed, and collective solutions can be developed. As such, I welcome constructive comments and discussions.
